After Session Care

What If’s:

- What if I have pain or feel worse after my adjustment?

o While most people experience reduced pain and an improvement in symptoms after an adjustment, sometimes people may experience some discomfort or pain. This is often a response of the muscles and surrounding soft tissues and will usually resolve by itself within a few days.

- When to call us;

o If the pain you are experiencing gets worse in any way

§ We will be able to advise you whether we need to see you again or give you any advice that may help you feel better

o If you just don’t feel “right” after your adjustment

§ You know your body best, so we encourage you to listen to it. If you don’t feel right after your adjustment, your chiropractor will be able to discuss with you if what you are feeling is normal, if we need to see you again, or if there is anything we can recommend to help you

o If you are unsure about anything your chiropractor discussed with you or you have further questions

§ We cover a lot of information in your initial visit and sometimes this can be overwhelming, especially if you are in pain. If you have any questions regarding your chiropractic adjustments and care please ask us. We encourage you to be informed about all aspects of your health as we have found well educated clients who understand why we do what we do tend to have better long-term outcomes

- What if I don’t feel any better after my adjustment?

o Most people feel better after their adjustment, some people don’t feel any different and occasionally people may feel worse before getting better. Your chiropractor will often recommend a schedule of care to get the improvements you are looking for. Why can’t we fix you in one visit? It’s just like going to the gym. If you only go once, you aren’t going to look like Arnold Schwartzenager! It can often take between 4-6 visits before you feel things are improving. Very often it feels like this back pain (or your problem) “just came out of nowhere”, however it is very commonly the things you do everyday; spending a long time on a computer, looking down at your phone, poor posture, stress, poor diet habits, repetitive movements like twisting, bending or using your mouse that cause the tissues to become overloaded and eventually result in pain
